New Staff

We are very happy to introduce two new staff members into the New Zealand Lattitude Office! We have two new Project Co-Ordinators - Maaren Bazuin and Lorna Murrell. Interns Waipora and Jenn are now on their placements and we hope they are having a great time.

Hello

My name is Lorna Murrell and I am excited to have joined the Lattitude team. I am originally from the UK and have been here for 16 years. I am also an ex volunteer from 2006 where I was placed in a school in the UK. I had the time of my life and learnt so much. I backpacked around Europe and saw so many amazing places. After returning I completed my Diploma in Business.

I am exciting about learning new things and meeting the volunteers.

Maarten Bazuin
Prior to joining Lattitude Global Volunteering Maarten taught public school teachers in Korea. Maarten has also been campaign manager for SAFeAGE, worked for Biowatch and Greenpeace, worked as a teacher of children with learning disabilities in South Africa and ran a Harley-Davidson motorcycle rental business and workshop. He has done volunteer work in Africa, Asia and in New Zealand and is passionate about education and the environment. In his free time Maarten is a HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) instructor and a medieval re-enactor. Having travelled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and
Asia, he can advise volunteers from personal experience.
